
I am posting this recipe because it is a cherished family recipe that I want to make available to those who had the privilege to know Wanda Webb.
Wanda was the mom of my childhood best friend, Wendy, and my sister’s close friend Reggie. Reggie became quite the wiz at making this dish as well. Wanda was not only an accomplished cook, but she used to pick up used, broken items at the swap meet, take them apart and fix them. She was an inspiring woman who always forged ahead and did things. Here is her famous cheesecake recipe:
Wanda Webb’s Cheesecake
Crust:
- 14 single graham crackers finely rolled
- 1 T. sugar
- 1 t. cinnamon
- ¼ cup butter
Filling:
- 1 lb. cream cheese
- 3 T. cream
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup sugar
Topping:
- ½ pint sour cream
- 1 t. vanilla
- ¼ cup sugar
Directions:
Crust: mix together and press firmly onto bottom and sides of a buttered 9” pie pan
Filling: thoroughly mix together all ingredients; pour into crust; bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees
Topping: mix all ingredients; spread over baked filling. Return to over, 450 degrees for 5 minutes.
Cool, then chill in the refrigerator.
